I love Spaghetti, and any other type of noodle for that matter, but I steer clear because of the high calorie intake. After consulting with my fabulously, fit friend Lauren, I learned that I no longer have to ban my spaghetti mountain.You will never believe what non-noodle she uses for her noodle dish.
The Non-Noodle Dish
I am 28 years old, happily married with two beautiful children, and I have struggled with my weight as long as I can remember. I always have felt that every aspect of my life was a perfect 10, but not my weight. It has kept me back from so many things that I have wanted to do in life, kept me from being the “real” me. I have tried every diet pill, tried meal replacement shakes, stopped eating carbs, practically starved myself, always looking for the easy way out. They all worked temporarily, but as soon as I returned to my normal eating habits, I would gain what I lost, plus an extra 20 pounds. I was so frustrated and just gave up. When I got married, I weighed around 225 pounds. I gained nearly 40 pounds when I got pregnant with our daughter, Analeigh, which put me at my heaviest, 264. I kept losing and gaining the same 20 or so pounds over the next few years, always getting back up to 264. I was embarrassed and frustrated to say the least, but didn’t have the confidence and motivation to get off my butt and do something about it! In the spring of 2013, we decided that we wanted to start trying to have another child soon. After a few months of trying with no success, I went and saw my doctor. She told me that if I wanted another child, I was going to HAVE to lose weight. Although I knew I needed to lose weight, actually hearing it for the first time from my doctor was groundbreaking for me. I was willing to do whatever it took for a second child, so I took her advice and ran with it!
