BEST HOLIDAY PARTY DRESSES

Holiday parties are the best! Especially for the adult lady who secretly like dressing up like a modern day princess at heart! When choosing my holiday party outfits I always think modern day royalty. If I was Kate Middleton, what would I wear? I know, I know…I’m such a little girl at heart but hey, every girl dreams of being a princess, and since it is a fairy tale after all, there’s no harm in feeling like one!

In this post I am showing off my Christmas day outfit while sharing some tips for choosing your holiday look and also showing you some of my other favorites!

THE JACKET

During the winter months, jackets are the statement piece. Every year I look for the perfect Christmas and New Years jacket. Last year I wore a tea length cream jacket with a fur collar. This year I am going with a 20’s style hunter green wool coat. So festive while serving it’s purpose of keeping me very cozy. We have this jacket in the shop at The Ivory Closet. I should have it up online soon!

EMBELLISHMENTS
This is one of the one times you can go overboard with beading, rhinestones, and pearls.I am usually a minimalist and do not do a lot of “extras” but the holidays warrant some fashionable bling! I have really been digging the new Chinese Laundry Stud Embellished Blush Heels we have at The Ivory Closet right now as well!

THICK FABRICS
Ladies always ask how to get away with sleeveless in the winter months? Go thick in your fabric. Of course a little heavier fabric isn’t going to keep the arms warm but it saves you from looking a little crazy when you are in the snow in a sleeveless dress! The fabric of my dress is a thick wool.
