6 Ways to Feel at Home in a Hotel

While I love to travel, it can be very lonely as a hotel room will never be home. After years and years of bouncing from one city to the next, I have found ways to transform my hotel experience into one that is cozier and more homely. In this post I will be giving you 5 tips on making your hotel stay feel more like home as well as showcasing The Peabody Hotel, Memphis’ newly renovated suites.

This is a sponsored post, however all brands were chosen by me as these are real items that I use for feeling more comfortable in a hotel room.

6 Ways to Feel More At Home in a Hotel Room

Bring a Pillow and Blanket from Home

I always find that while most hotels have cozy bedding, it is never quite like home. Your body is used to the texture, smell, and density of your own pillow and blanket. I like to bring the Bella il Fiore pillow that I sleep with nightly as well as my Very Bradley throw blanket that I snuggle up on the couch with while watching movies in the evening. When I can’t catch the Zzz’s, I just close my eyes and think about the memories shared snuggling up with my kiddos on the couch under my throw blanket and I am instantly soothed right to sleep.

Pamper Yourself

Being a momma of two, I rarely have time for myself. When traveling on business I always bring a facial mask and my favorite skincare regimens. Take the opportunity to give yourself a little love and pamper away. It seems to calm my mind and prep me for settling in to the sheets.

Use a Sleep Mask

Sometimes I just can’t force my eyes to stay closed in a hotel room. Strange sounds, people walking through the halls, I am the type of person that has a hard time sleeping in an unfamiliar place. It totally helps to add comfort to my sleep with my Bella il Fiore sleep mask.

Bring a Super Cute Night Outfit

OK, so this may sound stupid but I swear it works. At home, I usually just throw on a t-shirt and leggings to sleep in. They rarely match but they are surely comfortable. When traveling, I always being my best set of matching PJ’s. If I treat the hotel stay like a luxurious event I feel more pampered and enjoy my stay even more. I love bringing a cozy night shirt or my silk PJ’s for added comfort.

Bring Your House Slippers

One tends to only wear their slippers while inside their home which means that they are associated with the feeling of home. What better way to bring a little piece of home with you than to bring your slippers? My Fuzzy Babba slippers are lightweight and easy for travel.

Bring Your Favorite Soothing Drink

After a hard days work, I get back to the room, settle down into my PJ’s and it never fails. I am THIRSTY! What do I do? Of course there is tap water or a soda from the lobby but what about my evening pamper ritual of a flavored loose leaf tea? Well thanks to Pinky Up, I can steep my favorite tea flavors on the go! Nothing soothes the soul before a nightly snooze better than some warm caffeine free tea. By the way, the best tea for a slightly sweet tea drinker is the Matcha Ice Cream Green Tea.
