As you all know, I am a lover of art, and lately, I have been on a huge empowerment kick, as should we all, always. I wanted to share with you one of my favorite artists who paints her subjects with attitude and sass, evoking a sense of power and strength that seems to transfer to the viewer. Meet Kelly Jean Casmey ladies and gentlemen.
Kelly Jean is a Northern California Artist and mother of 3. She is currently focusing her work on a series that embodies the empowerment of women.
Specializing in commission pet portraits, she studied Fine Art at Sonoma State University in Sonoma County. She is currently showing at Gallery 105 in Santa Rosa, CA.
She has also shown at AW Gallery in Las Vegas, NV as well as other local shop and art shows in Oakland and San Francisco CA. Kelly did a series of small canvas lacquered paintings in which she painted women in the empowered state that she views them. Can you spot “your’s truly” below?
Of course I have my fair share of tattoos but not a full sleeve. I just love the uplifting feminine vibe and every time I glance over at this piece when I am feeling defeated at work, I am reminded of the badass within!
