5 Biggest Fitness Trends To Start In 2020

We are all indoors and fitness seems to be one of the items that top of the list for some of us during quarantine. Of course, fitness-related resolutions are among the most common, as the beginning of the year signals the perfect time for a fresh start and a new you, but do we stick with them? Come spring, many of us have dropped our resolutions and are looking for new motivation. Well, in this post I am giving you a bit of motivation! Here are a few of the biggest fitness trends to start in 2020.

HIIT

High-Intensity Interval Training, often referred to as HIIT, is exactly what it sounds like- intense training sessions in intervals of 30 minutes or less.  HIIT is perfect for people who are on-the-go and don’t have the time to put in an hour or two at the gym. HIIT delivers an effective, high-intensity workout in a short period of time, which is why this method of working out has become so popular.  However, HIIT is not for the faint of heart, and it is advised that you do your research and speak with your local HIIT instructor to make sure it’s the right choice for you before signing up. HIIT is a great way to burn calories, build muscle, and get into great shape without dedicating a large part of your day to working out.

Group Training

Group fitness classes have been around forever, but they’re likely to become even more popular in 2019.  From cycling to kickboxing, group training is offered at most gyms and are typically included in your membership.  More unique classes, like hula hooping, aqua zumba, and even goat yoga have been popping up in gyms across the country, and people are lining up to try these fun and quirky classes.  Group fitness classes are perfect for people who like working out with a buddy, or gym newbies who aren’t sure where to start. Group training is a fun way to get in a good workout and meet new people who share the same fitness goals!

Sometimes you just need to know what to eat and how different diets and meals affect your body. Hiring a dietician or choosing a meal plan that is created with your weight, shape, and metabolism in mind will deliver your workout results much quicker!

Trampolining

While many of us most likely haven’t been on a trampoline in years, trampoline workouts have been all the rage this past year.  Everyone from famous actors and musicians to Victoria’s Secret models swear by trampolining, as it’s a great way to get your blood pumping and shake up your typical cardio routine.  Trampolining is essentially the opposite of a high-impact workout like HIIT, as it is easy on the joints and can be practiced by almost anybody. Yoga has been a trend for quite some time but the practice has evolved into different types and flows. Step outside of the box and engage your mind as well as your body this year. Research the history and benefits of the yoga genres to decide on a practice that fits into your current life season.
