We have been in our home for two years and I am finally getting around to adding the finishing touches on my home. The room that our kids share at the moment is the game room. Eventually, we want to give each one of our boys their own room and reclaim the game room as a fitness area, movie room, and hang-out space for our kiddo, which I had to keep in mind when accenting the space. In this post I will share some of my favorite accent wall ideas from Photowall, as well as a few DIY accent projects I completed in January.
Accent with a Mural
There are several ways to accent a bare wall. My most favorite way is with wallpaper. Keep in mind, it is a long-term solution so be sure the design you choose is perfect for your space. When it comes to accenting with wallpaper, you can choose a repetitive design or a mural. In my boys’ room, I chose a wallpaper ,Uralic. The difference in a wallpaper mural as opposed to wallpaper, is that you send the company your wall’s measurements and they custom fit the design to match your wall. May favorite company for wallpaper murals is Photowall.

This is the aviation wallpaper mural what I ordered from Photowall. I must admit, I was intimidated at first to try to hang this mural myself, but once I got started, I was super surprised that it only took me roughly an hour to hang and it was super easy.
Here are some of my other favorite wall murals from Photowall that I would like to implement in the future.

The mural above is called Cicuta. I am obsessed with the moodiness that this mural adds to the space. You can see that this wallpaper compliments both cream, black, and natural wood trims.

I really love this forest wall mural for a nursery because it can be used for a boy or a girl. I am all about creating a sensory experience for newborns when it comes to the nursery. What better start than with a wallpaper that is visually stimulating.

I have been obsessing over the jewel tones in this tree branch art mural. This would be a beautiful accent wall for a reading nook in a cabin or bungalow in the woods.
Poster Collage Wall
I have been working on accenting my small, eat-in kitchen space. First, I created a little collage wall by framing some small poster prints that I found at Photowall and hung them around my crystal cabinet. Photowall has thousands of options to choose from for making the perfect collage wall.

Antique Style Family Portrait
Opposite this wall, I struggled with what to do with the large, plain white wall. Then it dawned on me. We had just finished up a fall family photoshoot. Photowall has a great service where they can take your photos and print them on canvas. My mother got me this beautiful antique frame from Amazon which fit my Photowall canvas print perfectly.
