Eat In Kitchen Reveal

April will be an entire year in our new home and I am still decorating, room by room, to make our house a home. Today, I am sharing my eat in kitchen reveal and some of the must have items for your family dinner gathering area.

Well Woven Washable Rug

If you need a washable rug anywhere in the house, it is definitively the kitchen area. We wanted a beautiful rug set for our kitchen sink area and under our table but with all of our children being under the age of 7, we didn’t want to spend a fortune on a rug that will need to be frequently cleaned. We are so thankful that we discovered Well Woven! Well Woven has a line of quality machine washable rugs that are perfect for high foot trafficked areas or spaces that are more likely to be messy. Don’t worry, you won’t have to pay a premium for these high quality, versatile pieces. Well Woven’s competitive prices make their rugs a no brainer! We purchased the Pomona Machine Washable Vintage Medallion Botanical Rug and Runner set.

Farm Style Table

I love a formal dining room for the classic furniture pieces, but in my eat in kitchen, a farm style table is the perfect for everyday use. The rustic look of the distressed wood makes it nearly impossible to ruin. The more rustic and dinged, the better.

Family Heirlooms

If you all have followed along for a while, you know that I cherish family heirlooms and like to pay homage to our loved ones who have passed. Each room in my house is themed after a generation past and my eat in kitchen is no different. This year, Greg’s grandmother passed away and we inherited several of her glass dinnerware pieces. This black Ballards buffet is called Dorthey’s Cabinet as every piece displayed was from her collection.

Seasonal Tablescape

Changing out your table setting to match the seasons is an easy and inexpensive way to spruce up your space. I like to choose staple pieces that can be decorated around such as this marble tray and glass vase. Each season, I change out the foliage and add a few trinkets that match the holiday that we are in. Target usually has some machine washable great placemats for as little as $5.
