Featuring Michael Michaud Design

I have been sharing beautiful handmade jewelry pieces from small business artisans for years here on the blog. Recently, I found a designer whos range expands beyond jewelry and whos inspiration is totally “down to earth.” In this post, I am sharing Michael Michaud Design.

For more than two decades Michael Michaud has perfected the craft of creating botanical and nature inspired jewelry. Each end every piece is handcrafted to capture the intricacies of nature. Michael Michaud creates a mold of the most delicate, unique botanical elements, capturing infinitesimally fine and lifelike details and then reproducing them as stunning, wearable jewelry pieces. They are known for using soft patinas on bronze, accented with pearls, beads and semi-precious stones. Michael Michaud also makes beautiful serving wear and dining table items. Check out some of my favorite items below!

The Pea Pod Brooch

This pea pod is cast in bronze with seven white freshwater pearls. This makes a beautiful gift for mom or grandma as it also comes in a variety from 2-7 pearls. One pearl for each child or perhaps one pearl for each grandchild.

“These annuals prefer cool weather and mature early. The “peas” inside the pod are considered berries by botanists. Common folklore regarding peas is that if you count the number of peas in a pod the crop will fail. Pennsylvanian Germans always planted peas under the sign of Gemini, hoping to get two for one and double pods.” – Michael Michaud

Pair your Pea Pod Brooch with a beautiful scarf or wrap to accent your favorite solid dress.

Artichoke Servers

The Michael Michaud home art collection is comprised of napkin rings, candle holders, desk accessories, frames, serving utensils and much more. I am in love with it’s elegant look all. Any of these times would make the perfect wedding or house warming party gift. These Artichoke Servers are cast in pewter with a special hand relieved gold and copper finish and stainless steel serving ends.

“Nature’s creations are the ultimate art that fills our hearts with joy; warms our souls with promise; and fuels our spirit with desire. My true inspiration, to reflect this beauty, is what my art is all about.” – Michael Michaud

Cordyline Earrings

This mixed metal look makes these cordyline earrings great dressed up or down. I have been wearing these with some of my favorite spring tops for a fun boho flair!

“Native to the Western Pacific Ocean region, these upright, palm tree-like plants are the wonderful focal point in any landscape. I hope you enjoy my contemporary interpretation of one of nature’s true beauties. I’ve always admired the Cordyline’s long, confidence against the gentle breeze of the Pacific.” -Michael Michaud

Hummingbird Salt and Pepper Shakers

This hummingbird salt and pepper shakers are cast in pewter with a 24K gold finish. My guests always compliment this cute little set, especially the nest that these shakers rest on. Michael Michaud also offers a set of beautiful hummingbird napkin rings in there collection to match.

“Nature’s creations are the ultimate art that fills our hearts with joy; warms our souls with promise; and fuels our spirit with desire. My true inspiration, to reflect this beauty, is what my art is all about.” – Michael Michaud

Tapestry Statement Necklace

The tapestry necklace is cast in bronze with a hand relieved gold and copper finish and accented in freshwater pearls. It’s delicate, yet statement design makes it perfect for cocktail attire!

“Tapestry is comprised of beautiful and delicate boughs with soft berry drops. The Collection’s inspiration started with Judocus de Vos’s work of the “Audience of the Prince Belgian” tapestry that tells the story of the history of the King of China. The original tapestry was woven at the Manufacture Royale de Beauvais around 1724 and is now in a private collection.” Michael Michaud
