Not a hat person but are forever curious? I hear this all the time…”I look funny in hats.” “My head is too big.” “I love hats but feel silly.” In this post I will present to you 3 show stopping hats and also help you to find the right hat for your face shape!

Before we can determine which hat is best for your face shape, you will need to grab a tape measure to figure out what your actual face shape is!

DETERMINE YOUR FACE SHAPE:

  1. Measure your forehead from end of eyebrow to end of eye brow and write that number down.
  2. Measure your cheek bones by placing one end of the measuring tape on one cheekbone (outside corner of your eye) and then take it over your nose all the way across to the other cheek bone. Write the number down.
  3. Measure your jaw. Place the tape measure at the bottom tip of your chin and run it up along the jawline to where your ear connects to the jaw. Times that number by two and write it down.
  4. Measure the length of your face from the center of your forehead at your hair line down to the bottom tip of the chin and write it down.

OVAL FACE

An oval face will have a length that is roughly one and half times greater than your face width. The forehead is a bit larger than the jawline, and the angle of the jaw is a bit more round. An oval face will look like an egg.” – wikihow

If you have an oval face YOU ARE BLESSED! Those with oval faces can wear pretty much any hat type.

OBLONG FACE

An oblong face will be longer than it is wide. The forehead, cheekbones, and jawline of an oblong face will be similar in size. Oblong faces may feature high foreheads.wiki how

Choose a piece with a short crown and very large floppy brim to offset the length of the face. The floppy brim helps to add width to the face making it look less long.

ROUND FACE
A round face will be the same width and length. A round face has a round chin, full cheeks, and a round hairline. It makes you look younger than other shapes.Wikihow
While you keep a youthful look longer as you have a round baby face, you need to add more angles to your face, as well as to make it look slimmer. You can do this by choosing a hat with a high crown and a straight brim. Tilting your hat forward will also help to create angles.

HEART SHAPED FACE
This face shape is very common. In a heart-shaped face, the chin is the narrowest part. A heart-shaped face has a broad forehead and/or wide cheekbones, and pointy chin.Wikihow
This is my face shape!
The goal for one who has a heart shaped face is to balance out the width of the forehead. Any hat will do except hats with wide brims as this tends to make the face look wider.
TRIANGLE FACE
Triangular faces will be characterized by a large jawline, slightly smaller cheekbones, and smallest forehead. A triangle face may be any length. Triangle-shaped faces are also known as pear shaped faces.Wikihow
Triangular faces are like oval faces, all hats are free game! Make sure the crown of the hat is not moe slender than the cheekbone.
SQUARE FACE

A square-shaped face has a length almost equal to its width. The distance from forehead to chin and from cheek to cheek are roughly the same.Wikihow

Hats with a circular look help to soften the edges of your face. Stay away from hats with a short brim or no brim at all. These toppers will accentuate your angular face shape doing nothing to round out your angles.
