How to Clean Air in Your Home

I don’t know about you, but I suffer from major allergies, therefore clean air is crucial to keep me from experiencing sinus problems. There are so many unknown benefits of clean air therefore many are not taking active measures to improve the air quality in their home. In this post, I will share a few ways that you can improve your home’s air quality for cleaner breathing!

How can you tell if the air in your house is clean?

A sure sign would be changes in your allergies or respiratory functions. When the air quality in my home dips, I notice that my sinuses are affected. I check unusual spots for dust build up such as my fans, door frames, or behind furniture. This build up can signal that it is time to improve the air in your home.

Many don’t realize it, but air quality is greatly affected by home improvements or repairs and therefore active measures must be taken to improve your environment after renovations are complete.

Also, households with pets must take care to clean their air more often. Pets bring in dust and other particles from the outside environment into our homes.

How To Clean Air In Your Home

Eliminate Dust Mites

As I mentioned above, dust mites hide in unexpected areas. I remember the first time I cleaned my fan. I was appaulled at the thick layer of dust that resided on top of my fan blade. No wonder my sinuses would go out of control when our fan was on. Be sure to check your fans, doorframes, on top of picture frames hanging on your wall, behind and underneath furniture, and even the base of tables or around the lights in lamp fixtures.

Use Air Purifiers

I have installed the AZEUS True HEPA Air Purifier in my living room and the MEGAWISE Smart Air Purifier in my bedroom. These purifiers can clean up to a 1080 sq ft large room in just 45 minutes. Better than most the air purifiers on the market, the 5-in-1 Filtration System filters 99.97% of dust, pollen, smoke, and pet dander. This air purifier filters particles as small as 0.3 microns and more which will help improve your overall health making it perfect for pet owners, babies, children, the elderly, and anyone who wants to improve the air quality in their home.

I really like the Smart Air Quality Sensor because it allows me to know my air quality in real-time by checking the color on the display. The purifier fan speed also automatically adjusts according to air quality!

Control Humidity

High humidity levels indoors will lead to excessive moisture which can lead to growth of mildew, dust mites, and mold. affect your health. All three of these can affect your overall health.

Remove Dust Mites

Did you know that dust mites are microscopic bugs that can be found in your furniture and carpet? While they don’t continuously float in the air, when you move about your home or sit on your furniture, they can be fluffed up into your environment for you to inhale. Be sure to vaccum furniture surfaces along with your rugs and carpet.

Clean Air Purifying Devices Regularly

As mentioned above, air purifying devices are incredibly helpful, but you must be sure that you upkeep them. If you don’t maintain filtered air-cleaning devices, these contaminants can be released back into your home. I recommend the AZEUS and MEGAWISE Air Purifiers, not only because they have 2,000 hours of use before filter replacement is needed, but because the device will notify you when your filter has expired. This helps me to ensure that I am not releasing containments back into the air.
