How to Design the Ultimate Girl Boss Office on a Budget

Want the ULTIMATE BOSS GIRL OFFICE? Most of you know me as a fashionista but I bet you didn’t know that I am a super budget shopper. I thrive on quality products at great deals. Maybe that is why I am so adamant about my boutique, The Ivory Closet, being price sensitive while also offering great quality! With that in mind, I am not a grazer when it comes to shopping. I usually will find a shop that matches my style and buyer criteria and frequent, no, pretty much LIVE in that store. haha When I invested in my creative studio space downtown, it was important to develop an atmosphere that was light and airy to allow idea generation and the creative juices to flow freely but as with the start of any new business, the budget is pretty tight and does not allow much room for frills. Luckily, with the help of interior designer, Savannah Cantrell and the super mod home store IKEA, I was able to get the perfect boss girl office while remaining in my budget!

So these are my before pictures. I found this great office space downtown for only $875 per month with internet and utilities included! Most people would take one look and miss the charm but I instantly fell in love. I did not see an old messy art studio, I saw the future of The Ivory Closet Headquarters! I will be showing more of this space once I get it all renovated, with a future post being the video studio and how to set up your own, but for now, I am going to give you the deets on my actual office area!

I am pretty decent at decorating but It was very important to me to create an environment with minimal stress. Savannah Cantrell is a local interior designer that helped me to do just that! She visited my space to take notes on my style, the condition of the space, and the overall goal that I was trying to accomplish with the design. I told her what my budget was and she came up with 3 beautiful planograms for my space!  I just LOVED the white washed design with a touch of gold and pink that she rendered.

After the design was decided on, I got to work! Most all of the pieces were found at IKEA, my favorite home furnishing superstore! Not only do I love their products but I always enjoy the unique shopping experience. The pieces not purchased at IKEA were Craigslist super buys, including the awesome old wooden desk that I had refinished.

I found all of the items from Savannah’s design and several other must have items! Below are my after photos as well as my top favorite IKEA pieces and an IKEA shopping list to recreate your own Boss Girl Office with IKEA on a budget.

So, want a similar office on a budget? These are the fabulous pieces I got from IKEA and a few more additions that I snagged while I was shopping there today.

One more thing, organizing the little things can help create a stress-free and stunning workspace. My tip is to choose a desk organizer that keeps your pens and stationery within easy reach. You can add a paper tray or some magazine holders for less clutter and more convenience.
