Wellness Rituals For Winter

I’m sure we could all agree that 2020 has been nothing but an up and down roller coaster with a few twists and turns along the way. That being said, having steady habits and rituals for the upcoming winter season might help you when it comes to reclaiming balance for your life. Wellness rituals will help bring a little bit more balance to your life – especially during times like these. It’s important to choose wellness rituals that feel good for you and make you feel more grounded and connected to yourself. Below I’m sharing 5 of the best wellness rituals for the winter season

WRITE IT OUT

Believe it or not, journaling is proven to help your mind and soul in so many ways. The best part is that there’s no right or wrong way to write or journal. Emptying your mind onto a piece of paper can release built-up stress and bring awareness to yourself. It can also be used as a creative outlet and a way to express thankfulness. Take 2-3 minutes at the beginning or end of each day to write it out, it will bring you so much peace.

YOGA + MEDITATION

Add some form of physical exercise to your daily routine to reduce anxiety and improve your overall health. One of my personal favorites? Yoga. Why? It’s an amazing way to to tune into yourself and find a deep connection within yourself. Yoga also challenges your patience and ability to stay present, which is so important in our current world today.

EXPRESS GRATITUDE

Practicing and expressing gratitude is said to improve physical and psychological health, enhance empathy and self-assurance, and have an open heart for new opportunities. Consistently expressing thankfulness can make you mentally stronger making it easier to get through hard and challenging times. Simply jotting down 5-10 things you’re grateful for each day will greatly make a difference in your everyday routine.

GO EXPLORE

Get outside! It’s more important now than ever. Though many things are restricted and different this year, getting outside and breathing in fresh air can positively change so many things about your day. Stepping outside into nature can completely clear your mind and be incredibly grounding in the midst of chaos. Taking a 10-15 minute walk 2-3 times per day can drastically help you reconnect and improve your mood.

TAKE CARE OF YOUR BODY + SKIN

This one seems like a no brainer, but do we really take care of our body and skin as much as we should? Taking care of your body doesn’t mean going on a hard core diet or restricting all the foods you love. It’s pretty simple – make sure your body is getting the necessary nutrients and vitamins it needs to maintain mental, emotional, and physical strength each day. The same goes for your skin – find a skincare routine and stick to it! Protecting your skin will make a difference in viewing yourself in a positive light.
