If you’re anything like me (and lots of other people in the world), one of your goals for the new year has probably been to eat healthier, right? However, sometimes life gets in the way and we aren’t able to keep up with cooking 7 days a week and 3 meals a day. So… what about healthy snacking?! Snacks only take a few minutes to make and are super convenient when you’re on-the-go. Whether you’re in the carpool line, a work meeting, or road tripping, these three simple snacks will help you meet that 2021 goal of a healthier lifestyle!
MY THREE FAVORITE ON-THE-GO SNACKS

HOMEMADE TRAIL MIX
Why? Because it’s one of the most versatile snacks you can make! Depending on your preferences and allergies, there are so many things you can add to a bag of trail mix, including cranberries, any kind of nuts or seeds, coconut flakes, and dried fruit to name a few. If you’re going to add the chocolate, try to avoid the usual M&Ms and go with a small amount of heart-healthy dark chocolate.

YOUR GO-TO VEGGIE + HUMMUS
Choose your veggie, wash, and go! Even add a few pita chips to the mix for that extra crunch. This is such an easy snack to take on the go because there’s barely any required preparation and it provides most of the nutrients your body needs in one snack – it’s a win-win!
If you’re in the mood for something sweet over savory, just switch the veggie for your go-to fruit and add peanut butter instead of hummus!

FROZEN BANANAS COVERED IN DARK CHOCOLATE
This one has to be my favorite of the three. If you’re feeling fancy and want to try something different (but still healthy!), try slicing a banana in half, putting it on a popsicle stick, covering it in melted DARK chocolate, and freezing it. You can even add nuts, seeds, strawberries, peanut butter, or coconut to the chocolate for that extra something special.
