New York Blog Conference Guide

I always have such a wonderful time at the BlogHer conferences! This year BlogHer put on a health conference in New York City and of course, I couldn’t turn down the invite. I was super excited to link up with Yotel for a hotel experience I will NEVER forget. In this post I will share my experiences and tell all about the hotel concept of the future!

While this post is sponsored by Yotel, all reviews are authentic and my own.

I must say that Yotel made my experience in New York City over the top! I have been to the Big Apple more times than I can count on 2 hands but after my stay in this futuristic hotel, I have decided that the Yotel concept is the way forward when it comes to vacationing.

Upon arriving, we checked in at the self service kiosks in the lower lobby. Since we arrived early, we used the Yobot to store our luggage while we got to work. BACK UP….”What is a YOBOT?” you ask. I was amazed at this innovative bellman who is fully robotic and will take and store your luggage until your cabin is ready.
Speaking of cabins, this is the term that Yotel uses to refer to it’s rooms. We stayed in the Queen Premium View cabin. Our cabin had a work desk, bed that folded up into a couch when not in use with the press of a button, a silent auto detected heating and cooling system, a heated towel rack, a huge techno wall flat screen TV, and so many awesome compartments to prevent clutter and for storing your belongings. Take a hard look at the cabin pictures. You will see all of the little nooks and crannies!

My favorite part of the room was the monsoon shower and hair products. I had a super long first full day and have to admit, I laid in the shower for about an hour! The shower head gently massaged my aching body while I soaked in the quiet time and enjoyed the aromatherapy shampoo and conditioner.
For Yotel to be such an affordable hotel in the heart of Manhattan, it had wonderful amenities! I enjoyed the coffee bar in the mornings and the spinach and cheese stuffed bread was my absolute favorite early morning snack.
In the evenings, I enjoyed a scrumptious dinner and glass of wine in the Green Fig restaurant. The brussels sprouts and short ribs over risotto were my favorite eats.
They also had a rockin’ gym with the music cranked for enhanced motivation.

I loved the funky decor of the lobbies and lounges.I would definitely recommend Yotel if you want a SUPER AFFORDABLE and TOTALLY MEMORABLE experience. Seriously, what’s not to love? CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THEIR LOCATIONS AND OFFERINGS.
Day one, BlogHer invited me to check out FlyWheel. A workout concept involving cycles, bumping music, and a super enthusiastic fitness coach. Oh, did I mention, it is done in a very dark setting with a huge TV above so that you can check your class ranks? Talk about major competition. I always strive to win so this the perfect kind of class for me. I went so hard that I came very close to passing out after. Who doesn’t want to be a winner?

We were all given special shoes that lock into the bike so that you can go super hard and not worry about your feet slipping off.

After the gym, I got ready really quick to attend the BlogHer VIP party at Tribecca 360 Rooftop!

Day 2, was the main conference day.  I wore a Michael Kors leather jacket and backpack, a Gracia top and poly bottoms from my shop, and a pair of Jessica Simpson pumps.

I love the workshops at these events but my favorite part is the networking opportunities. I always meet some pretty fabulous ladies and companies that are super in lined with my content.

The confrence was from 8:30 am and lasted until 7 pm. I heard several amazing speakers, my favorite being Jillian Michales and Camilla Alvez.

Day 3, was easily one of my favorites! Everyone knows how big of a hat gal I am, well I got the opportunity to learn more about and actually witness the art with Brandon with BM Franklin and Co.

Brandon is truly talented. He attended college in Miami where he worked for Ralph Lauren. He was inspired in the craft of hat making after meeting the owner of one of New York City’s oldest hat shops, Worth and Worth. After apprenticing for an old hat company in Italy and working for Worth and Worth for 6 years, he decided to venture out on his own to start BM Franklin and Co in 2016.

BM Franklin and Co. crafts custom made hats for men and women of all affluence. He has worked with Sarah Jessica Parker, Michael Strahan, and Andre Iguodala to name a few. Brandon uses all turn of the century hat making tools which makes his operation unique to the traditional process. He also sources his materials from reputable companies, some being right in the city, as to only use authentic fabrics, furs, and felts.

I really enjoyed mixing a little pleasure into my business trip! I met so many talented people, networked with the coolest brands, and stayed at an unbelievably cool hotel! If you are a fellow blogger or a health care professional, check out BlogHer’s health confrence next year!

Special thanks to J.Peterman for these super cute Deep Creek Leather Booties.
These booties had me traveling around the city in style! I love the chrome over lay dye on these leather booties. What a great spin on a classic black boot?

Wow, didn't know Yotels were this good! I wonder if the one at the airport in Amsterdam is like this. Last time I went home had to make a connection there and felt very tempted to book a room just because I was in need of a shower! Didn't do it, but might next time since it look so cool!
