Christmas at Elvis’ House | Graceland

There is nothing quite like a Memphis Christmas, especially when you are a guest at Elvis’ house, Graceland. In this post, I am sharing our wonderful Christmas experience and stay at the Guesthouse at Graceland.

Of course as a native Memphian, I have visited Graceland, but we are so excited to be back to Elvis Presley’s for our annual Christmas tradition!  With Mansion tour capacity greatly reduced, we had the unique opportunity to walk in Elvis’ footsteps like never before!

We were delighted to tour Graceland’s Christmas decorations and hear all of Elvis’ holiday traditions. Elvis truly loved Christmas time and he went all out every year with lights, yard decor and multiple Christmas trees throughout the house!

Everything is so authentic to Elvis’ Christmas, that the original tinsel is still used on the tree. At the end of the holiday’s it is removed from the tree, one by one, and placed in an archival bag so that it can be brought out and reused every year just as Elvis did.

Being a gal who enjoys hosting dinner parties, I was amazed by the dining room set for Christmas dinner. Elvis had this black marble installed after Lisa Marie was born so that she could ride her tricycle around the table and not mess up the white carpet.

The mansion was as majestic and grandiose as Elvis himself with every room themed and decorated!

Our tour of Graceland really set the Christmas tone for our stay. We toured the mansion, Elvis’ planes, the car collection, his wardrobes, and so much more!

After our tours we checked in to the Guesthouse at Graceland resort for a nice relaxing evening.

The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas and the retro contemporary decor was fit for the king! All of the rooms are decorated to meet Elvis’ style, and the comfort was equally as pleasing.

After getting settled, we headed down to the lobby bar and restaurant where they have live music on the weekends and delicious food!

After dinner, Greg thoroughly enjoyed the bathroom amenities, aka the tub! We enjoyed watching a few Elvis films and getting cozied up in our sweats before heading down to the courtyard to snuggle by one of the fire pits under the stars. Our trip was truly magical and a very much needed getaway for two hard working parents!
