In October 2025, I did something that felt responsible, but not urgent. I ran comprehensive labs through the biological age test and bio-marker test, the Superpower App. I wasn’t sick. I wasn’t overweight. I wasn’t exhausted beyond what I considered “normal busy life.” I felt… fine. But my blood work didn’t.

Biological Age Test
Did you know you can test your biological age? Biological age
measures how fast your cells, tissues, and organs are aging based on physiological function, rather than the number of years you have lived(chronological age). I was shocked to discover through my Superpower Blood Test that:
- My C-reactive protein (CRP)—a marker of systemic inflammation—was high.
- My cholesterol was elevated.
- My iron levels were high.
- My hormones showed I was in perimenopause.
- My biological age was 37.6 (I’m 39 so this is a good thing)
- My health score was a 69 out of 100
Nothing screamed emergency. But nothing whispered optimal either. That was the moment I realized how easy it is to live in the gray zone of “fine.”
The Emotional Shift
I’ve always thought of myself as proactive. I work out. I eat well. I care about longevity. But seeing those markers in black and white forced me to confront something uncomfortable: Health doesn’t deteriorate dramatically overnight. It drifts quietly as we age, and sometimes doing the “right things” per society standards, isn’t always enough for our own unique bodies.
I didn’t want to drift. Instead of waiting for cholesterol to potentially develop into heart disease or inflammation to manifest as something louder, I chose to intervene early.
What the Science Said about my Health (And Why It Matters)
C-reactive protein (CRP) is produced by the liver in response to inflammation. Elevated CRP levels are strongly associated with increased cardiovascular risk—even in otherwise healthy individuals. Studies published in journals like The New England Journal of Medicine have shown that chronic low-grade inflammation plays a significant role in the development of heart disease, metabolic dysfunction, cancer and even neurodegenerative conditions.
GLP-1 receptor agonists, while widely known for blood sugar regulation, have also demonstrated effects beyond glucose control. Research indicates they can improve insulin sensitivity, reduce inflammatory signaling pathways, improve lipid profiles (including LDL and triglycerides), and lower the risk of major cardiovascular events in certain populations. Some of these benefits appear independent of weight loss.
In simple terms: inflammation, metabolic imbalance, and cardiovascular risk are interconnected. When you improve one system, you often positively influence the others. That’s what I was hoping for.
What I Changed
I followed the physician-guided protocol suggested through Superpower app and took the app protocol suggestions to Dr. Susan Murrmann, my personal doctor, to get her opinion as well. Here are some changes I made immediatly:
- Began taking a GLP, under medical supervision, to support metabolic health and inflammation
- Purchased the Hume Health band to monitor recovery, HRV, and nervous system strain
- Paired my Hume Band with the Hume body composition tracking POD to focus on lean mass and metabolic shifts—not just weight
- Started taking supplements that were specific to my health needs per the Superpower app protocol
- FOllowed the personalized Superpower protocol which recommended a diet specific to my body’s needs and a weekly fitness recommendation
The Tools I Used

HUME Body POD
The Body Pod uses 8 frequency sensors to deliver precise weight, full body composition, and heart health

Both Body POD & Band
Take the guesswork out of your fitness journey with personalized insights, actionable feedback, and weekly health reports.
This journey wasn’t about aesthetics. It was about internal alignment and longevity.
The Results After Three Months
The changes were measurable, and deeply personal. I was completely shocked At what just 3 months of habit change and introducing a supplement protocol could do for my body!

- My CRP dropped from extremely high inflammatory zones to optimal levels. That’s better than normal!
- My biological age dropped from 37.6 to 33.
- My health score rose from 69 to 93 out of 100.
- My iron normalized.
- While my cholesterol markers did not improve, I did speak with a cardiologist about getting on a medication that can help with this and also began taking a Berberine supplement.
But beyond the numbers, something else shifted. I was less inflamed. Less reactive. More steady. My recovery improved. My energy stabilized. My body felt like it was working with me instead of subtly pushing against me.
And seeing that reflected daily in my Hume Health data and Superpower bloodwork reinforced that it wasn’t placebo, it was physiological.
The Part We Don’t Talk About
We celebrate dramatic transformations. We normalize treating disease. But we rarely talk about the power of small, early interventions. Preventative health can feel excessive, until you see the data, or worse, until you experience a serious health issue.
Three months isn’t a lifetime. But it’s enough time to shift a trajectory. And that’s what this was for me: a trajectory shift. Not because I was sick. But because I didn’t want to become sick.
A Personal Reflection
What surprised me most wasn’t the drop in biological age or the improved markers. It was the realization that I had been equating “not struggling” with “thriving.” They aren’t the same.
Proactive health isn’t about fear. It’s about clarity. It’s about using the tools available, bloodwork, data, medicine, and wearables, to make informed decisions before something forces you to.
Three months of intentional action didn’t just change my labs. It changed how I think about longevity.
