Hosting A Tea Party

Many think tea parties are a thing of the past, but during these cold winter months and with a little City Chic Living twist, you can host the ultimate adult tea party that will have your guests raving for months to come.

So what’s the twist for hosting a tea party that your guest will never forget? Bring on the spirits! Andrea with Andrea’s Cooktales created 3 very delicious spiked tea recipes to enjoy after dinner while we sat around the table sharing stories and catching up with friends and in this post, I am sharing those recipes with you, but before I do, here are some tea party essentials. Raspberry Vanilla Tea Party 

Vanilla syrup:
1 cup water
¾ cup sugar
1 vanilla bean – split
3 ½ cups steeped raspberry leaf tea 
1 cup vanilla vodka 
¾ cup vanilla syrup

Make the syrup. Combine the water and sugar in a saucepan. Using a knife, scrape out the seeds from the vanilla bean directly into the saucepan and add the bean to the mixture as well. Bring to a boil, take off the heat, and let steep and cool. Remove vanilla bean before using. 

In a Mason jar or pitcher, add the raspberry tea, vodka, and syrup. Shake or stir together. Heat until warm in the microwave or on the stovetop before serving. 

Cinnamon Chai Rum Delight

Cinnamon syrup:
1 cup water
¾ cup sugar
2 cinnamon sticks
3 cups steeped chai tea 
1 cup spiced rum 
¾ cup cinnamon syrup 
½ – ¾ cup half and half 

Make the syrup by combining water, sugar, and cinnamon sticks in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, take off the heat, and let steep and cool. Remove cinnamon sticks before using. 

In a Mason jar or pitcher, add the chai tea, spiced rum, cinnamon syrup, and half and half. Shake or stir together. Heat until warm in the microwave or on the stovetop before serving. 

Lavender Bees Knees Green Tea 

Lavender Honey Syrup:
1 cup water
½ cup sugar
½ cup honey
1 tablespoon lavender leaves 
3 cups steeped green tea 
1 cup gin
¾ cup lavender honey syrup
½ to ¾ cup ginger beer

Make the syrup by combining the water, sugar, honey, and lavender leaves in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, take off the heat, and let steep and cool. Strain out the lavender leaves before using. 

In a Mason jar or pitcher, add the green tea, gin, lavender honey syrup, and ginger beer. Shake or stir together. Heat until warm in the microwave or on the stovetop before serving. 

We had such a blast with friends at our tea party. Even the guys had a good time! From delicious food and amazing conversation, to tasty drinks. This is an evening that we won’t soon forget!
