How Long Do Eyelash Extensions Last?

I was not blessed with long lashes but fortunately there are options out there for lash length. I have used the more temporary glue on lash strips for events but at the end of the night, they come off and my lash length is back to short. In this post, I will share my new found lash love, lash extensions.

Lash extensions are the instant way to go for lasting lash length. I actually use lash growth serum to keep my natural lashes growing while my extensions by Amy at Taylorwood Salon add immediate length. I get tons of questions about my lash extensions and I am answering them all in this post!

How Long Do Lash Extensions Last?

My lash extensions stay looking good for about 3 weeks. Beyond that, all of them will gradually fall out on their own. I have an ongoing appointment with AMy at Taylorwood Salon for refills which keeps them looking full and voluminous. With regular fills, your lash extensions will last indefinitely.

Do Lash Extensions Ruin Your Natural Lashes?

MYTH! So many people are worried that lash extensions ruin your own lashes. They don’t at all! If you schedule an appointment with a professional who applies them correctly and properly, they are safe and will not ruin the health of your natural lashes. If you decide to get extensions, be sure not to rub your eyes, tug on, or pull on the extensions because this can cause lash loss.

Can you put mascara on eyelash extensions?

I only apply mascara to my bottom lashes where I do not have extensions, however you can wear mascara on your lash extensions. Be sure not to use oil-based or water-proof mascara as these formulas can dissolve the bonding agent and shorten the life of your eyelash extensions.

Can you shower with eyelash extensions?

You sure can! You can swim, exercise, and shower as usual but avoid excessive exposure to heat or steam as it can cause them to fall out. Also be gentle when cleaning the eye area. You don’t want to rub your eyes excessively or pick or pull on the lashes as it can pull your own lash out along with the extension. Avoid oil-based eye care products or oil-based eye make-up remover.
