This summer we got to take the kids on a dream vacation to visit the Mouse House, Harry Potter’s school, a little Pirate Adventure, and for some summer sun at Westgate Vacation Villa Resort. It was the perfect little 4 day getaway and family moon since our marriage. In this post, I will share the most amazing resort we stayed at and our itinerary that was perfect for children ages 3 to 6 years old!
Our Resort
Westgate’s Kissimmee resort | Westgate’s Kissimee water park resort I Westgate Vacation Villas Resort
We stayed at the beautiful Westgate Vacation Villa resort in Orlando. It was so close to every activity that we had scheduled for our stay, the rooms were so clean and accommodating, and the resort has so many dining options and activities going on that we could have stayed 4 days without ever leaving the resort!

The one room condo was spacious and absolutely perfect for our family. The bedroom was very large with an in-suite jacuzzi tub and private access to the balcony. The kids slept on the full size pull-out couch in the living room! I really enjoyed my quiet mornings on our balcony, sipping coffee before we began our adventurous day at the parks!

Upon reviewing all that Westgate Vacation Villas had to offer, we were sure to schedule a resort day during our vacation in order to experience all of the amenities. The boys really loved the on-site waterpark, Shipwreck Island. Jack even went down the big waterslide by himself for the very first time. While the waterpark was full of activities for the kiddos, Westgate didn’t leave out the adult fun. We were able to enjoy a cocktail from the pool bar while playing with the boys!

After playing in the water and watching the swan paddle boats go by in the resort pond, we set out for put-put golf on the resort and then to one of the resort eateries, Villa Italiano. The food was incredible and the service 5 star. We were so impressed with Westgate Vacation Villa and will be sure to stay here every time we return to Orlando!

Orlando Family Activities
Pirates Dinner Adventure
A fun little tidbit about our family, we all love pirate themed activities. When I met Greg, he had a pirate flag hanging in his front yard. And yes, Jack is named after one of my favorite pirates, so it should be no surprise that I booked the Pirates Dinner Adventure. This is a MUST SEE dinner show that appeals equally to children and adults. By the end of the show we were waving plastic pirate swords and singing “yo-ho” aloud with the crowd. The food was delish and the acting top notch. There was even a little comedy sprinkled in that not only suited the kids, but adults too

Disney World
Everyone loves Disney, but we specifically picked this one for our three year old, James. This was his first time to really go on amusement park rides and see Mickey in real life. Of course, any Mickey siting resulted in James wanting us to stalk him until he would disappear into one of his mouse house locations. I was surprised that almost every ride was suitable for children around the age of three. Of course he couldn’t ride alone, but the rides accommodated an adult comfortably.

Universal Studios
Universal was really for our older son, Jack. He loves Harry Potter and of course, you can’t get any closer to the real deal than The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Universal! What a truly magical experience for him. He got to see a magic wand demo in Olivander’s Wand Shop, and even be fit for a magic wand of his own. Once he got his very own wand, he used the map that came with it to find the places around Hogwarts that he could practice his magic He turned on and off music boxes in the shop windows and even made a magical quiddich ball buzz around! Of course, Universal is great for the young ones too, especially if they love superheroes like James!

We truly had a vacation to remember this summer in Orlando. The boys are still talking about it and are already planning round two!
