Located on Maroma Beach, one of the most celebrated stretches of coastline in the Riviera Maya, the resort sits along a wide expanse of powder-soft white sand and crystal-clear turquoise water. Pictures don’t quite do it justice.
Every morning, I found myself walking the shoreline with coffee in hand, taking in the incredible views. The beach was beautifully maintained, and there was always plenty of space to find a comfortable spot to relax.
If you’re someone who chooses a resort based on the quality of the beach, Secrets Maroma absolutely delivers.
The Rooms Feel Like a Private Retreat
One thing I loved about Secrets Maroma was how peaceful the resort felt.
Our suite was spacious, beautifully designed, and filled with thoughtful touches that made it easy to settle in and feel at home. The oversized bed, luxurious bathroom, and private outdoor space created the perfect setting for a relaxing getaway.
After long days in the sun, it was the kind of room you actually looked forward to returning to each evening.
The Dining Experience Exceeded My Expectations

That wasn’t the case here.
Secrets Maroma offers a variety of restaurants, and I was genuinely impressed by both the quality and presentation of the meals. Whether we were enjoying fresh seafood, authentic Mexican dishes, or a romantic dinner overlooking the resort grounds, every meal felt thoughtfully prepared.
The service was equally impressive, with staff members who seemed genuinely invested in making each dining experience enjoyable.
The Fishing Trip That Became One of My Favorite Travel Memories
One of the highlights of our trip actually happened off the resort property.
We booked a deep-sea fishing excursion and spent the day exploring the beautiful waters off the coast. It ended up being one of the most exciting excursions I’ve ever taken.
During the trip, I caught a wahoo, barracuda, and tuna, which was an incredible experience in itself.
But what happened next made it even better.
When we returned to the resort, the culinary team prepared our fresh catch for us. Sitting down to enjoy fish that we had caught ourselves just hours earlier felt incredibly special and added a personal touch to the entire vacation.
It’s one of those travel experiences that you remember long after you’ve unpacked your suitcase.
Mexican Fiesta Night Was a Highlight of the Week
Another unforgettable evening was Mexican Fiesta Night.
The resort transformed into a celebration of Mexican culture complete with live entertainment, music, dancing, and traditional cuisine. The energy throughout the evening was contagious.
To make the night even more memorable, we reserved a VIP table located directly in front of the show. Waiting for us at the table was a bottle of tequila and a bottle of wine, along with attentive service throughout the evening.
Having front-row seats allowed us to fully enjoy every performance, and the VIP experience made the entire night feel extra special.
It was one of my favorite evenings of the trip and something I would absolutely recommend to future guests.
The Service Makes All the Difference
Beautiful resorts are easy to find. Exceptional hospitality is much harder to come by.
What stood out to me throughout our stay was how attentive and friendly the staff was. Every interaction felt genuine, whether we were checking in, dining at a restaurant, relaxing by the pool, or arranging activities.
The team consistently found ways to make guests feel welcomed and appreciated without ever feeling intrusive.
Those small moments of hospitality are often what separate a good vacation from a great one.
