How to Get Dewy Skin

Since reaching my 30s, my skin has done some major changing. I used to have very normal skin and now I suffer from dryness and hormonal breakouts. Due to the dryness my makeup can look very “cakey” if I am not intentional in the products that I use and with the way I prep my skin. In this post I am sharing how I create a very youthful, natural dewy everyday.

Dewy Skin DIY

First you have to have all the products for getting the perfect dewy look. I have to admit, it is hard to find moisturizing products that won’t break you out, but after years fo trying many differnt product combinations I think I have discovered the perfect combo.

There are three steps to achieving perfectly dewy skin:

  1. At Home Facial twice per week
  2. Skincare that promotes a dewy look
  3. Cosmetics/ Makeup

STEP 1 | Dewy Skin Facial

First ‘let’s go over cleaning your skin from deep down to promote a healthy dewy skin glow. On Wednesdays and Sundays I take an hour of self care time to show myself and my skin some love. I really love the benefits of the Dead Sea and Hyaluronic acid, so I incorporate both of these in this routine.

  1. Cleanse the face with a gentle foam cleanser. I use the LaRoche Posay Gentle Foaming Wash because it has shea butter for hydration and Niacinamide for helping to even the skin tone. It’s great for sensitive skin.
  2. Tone the skin. I like to use Thayers Lavender Toner. The lavender is especially soothing when you are trying to relax during your self-care time.
  3. Detox the skin with the Grace and Stella Dead Sea Mask.

4. Apply eye mask. I also like to use the Grace and Stella Gold Eye Masks for helping top reduce crepey under eyes.

5. Apply moisturizing lip mask. Another great Grace and Stella product is the award winning Grace and Stella Lip Mask.

You can get several of these products packaged together in the Grace and Stella Dew-Tox and Chill Kit

Step 2 | Dewy Skin Skincare

This step is your every day skincare routine to prep your skin before applying any makeup. It is so important to be mindful of how you prep your skin to achieve the perfect look. The dewy look is just as much in the skincare as it is the makeup you use.

  1. Wash and tone with the LaRoche Posy and Thayers products listed above.
  2. Use the Grace and Stella Hyaluronic Acid Serum. I love Hyaluronic acid because it provides and locks in moisture without making our skin oily.
  3. Apply a small amount of Palmers Solid Cocoa Butter to your face. Note: a little goes a very long way!

Step 3 | Dewy Skin Makeup

there are so many brands on the market that have fabulous products for achieving a dewy look. I have recently discovered ColorScience Flex Face Shield Tinted Moisturizer. I am obsessed with this product. Not only is it the perfect dewy coverage but it is amazing for your skin but it is an all-mineral SPF 50 that is proven to protect against free radical formation and damage.
