If you plan to wear your naturally straight hair curly most of the time, go ahead and choose a mid-length or longer layered cut! The layers will add texture to create a wave and a shorter cut takes out some of the weight.
- Use a conditioner when washing your hair. Healthy, moisturized hair will hold curls better than dried out hair.
- Then apply a root lifting spray and mousse after towel drying your hair. I am obsessed with Davines Volu Spray and the *AWARD WINNING* This Is A Curl Moisturizing Mousse . You can get both of these products at Eva Salon! If you are not from Memphis, click the images below to order yours!
3. With a medium sized round brush, blow dry your hair and round brush it out.Dry in 2 inch sections and focus on lifting the roots by applying the air to the hair closest to your head as you round brush. Make sure to overdirect as well. This means to lift the sections from one side of the head and dry them to the other side to add more volume.
4. With a medium barreled curling iron, wind your hair around the barrel to add bouncy curls and finish the look with my favorite hairspray, Davines This Is A Strong Hairspray.
